Assignments and Grading

Tests:  There will be one tests following the completion of each chapter.  Together these tests will constitute sixty-five percent of your final grade.

Classroom Projects:  Each trimester will end with a major project.  While working on projects, students will be expected to stay on task insofar as completion of all work assigned in class.  Certain assignments may require for students to split into groups.  In this instance, I will assign students into groups of MY choice.  Students may not select their own groups.  However, being paired with others in a group dynamic does not by any means suggest that students will receive only one group grade.  When given group projects, each student will be given a specific assignment that THEY are to complete.  Their grade will reflect their contribution to the group assignment.

Reading Assignments and Homework:  There is no clear indicator to show that student’s have read material that was assigned.  And so with that said, expect to answer at LEAST three short answer questions and be able to identify any key terms following each assigned reading.  I will distribute the list of key terms and short answer questions along with the reading assignments if using sources other than your assigned texts.

Quizzes:  Much like the chapter tests, quizzes may be given after each completed section to make certain that students are on task with their reading.

Weights:
Assessments (tests, quizzes, projects): 65%
Classwork: 65%
